Category: Portable Monitors

Portable monitors have gone from niche accessory to genuine productivity tool. Whether you are working from a hotel room, extending your laptop screen at a client’s office, or just need a second display you can throw in a bag, the market has exploded — and so has the number of monitors that claim to be portable but are anything but. I cut through the marketing and focus on what actually matters: real weight, actual USB-C compatibility, whether the brightness holds up outside, and whether the stand is genuinely usable without a separate prop.

Not every slim monitor deserves to be called portable. I look at whether it draws power from a single cable, how it performs without a mains connection, and whether the build quality will survive being chucked in a bag on a daily commute. If a monitor is genuinely worth taking on the road, I will tell you. If it is just a thin panel that still needs three cables and a power brick, I will tell you that too.
