Tag: Eye Care

Eye care is one of the most abused marketing terms in the monitor industry. Every other listing on Amazon claims to be “flicker-free” or “low blue light” — but there is a significant difference between a monitor that genuinely reduces eye strain and one that has slapped a certification badge on the box without meaningfully changing anything about the panel.
What actually matters for eye comfort is a combination of things: a proper flicker-free backlight that does not use PWM dimming at low brightness levels, a blue light filter that works without destroying colour accuracy, and a brightness range wide enough that you are not stuck squinting at a panel that only goes down to 80 nits. Panel type matters too — IPS and OLED panels are generally easier on the eyes over long sessions than TN panels. I flag the eye care credentials honestly in every relevant analysis so you know whether a monitor’s claims hold up or whether it is just marketing noise.
